Madigan-Curtis-Ritcey Scholarship

Festival year.
Criteria:
1. Please do not mention your teacher’s name on this application
2. Intermediate or Senior Student in grade 11 or 12
3. In 2025 participant must have performed 2 Musical Theatre/Vocal pieces in the PKMF Festival
4. Must be pursuing a musical theatre career after highschool graduation or acceptance into a university degree or college diploma in Musical Theater
Recipient does not not have to be enrolled in a “post-secondary” musical theatre program, but they should be pursuing professional training towards their musical theatre career. Training examples include voice lessons, musical theatre workshops, dance intensives, acting training, or acceptance
Please note: Scholarship can also be used towards costumes, travelling to auditions etc.

Applications must be received by April 1, of the current festival year.
Penticton Kiwanis Music, Dance and Speech Arts Festival would like to recognize a well-rounded performer; demonstrated by registration in multiple disciplines.
For any aged youth registered in Three (3) or more Solo Entry Disciplines of Penticton Kiwanis Music Festival.
Any combination of registration in 3 Disciplines of: Classical/Modern Dance, Stage Dance, Classical Voice, Musical Theatre, Pianoforte, Speech Arts, Strings, Woodwind, Brass or Guitar. (Classical Dance and Modern Dance qualify as one discipline).
Application must include
- Name
- Address
- A list of confirmed entries (Discipline, Category/Title, comp #)
- A short essay of what involvement in the Performing Arts means to you (250 words or less)
Winners of the Scholarship will be selected by a panel of board members and presented at the Highlights Concert.
SCHOLARSHIP FOR MUSICAL THEATRE - Junior |
Candidates must be 14 years or under and enter the following categories:
Three (3) classes from Comedy, Ballad, Additional Repertoire, Production, Motion Picture Theme Song or Cabaret.
SCHOLARSHIP FOR MUSICAL THEATRE - Intermediate

Candidates must be 17 years and under and enter the following categories:
THREE classes from Comedy, Ballad, Additional Repertoire, Production, Motion Picture Theme Song or Cabaret.
SCHOLARSHIP FOR MUSICAL THEATRE - Senior

Candidates must be 22 years and under and enter the following categories:
Three (3)lasses from Comedy, Ballad, Additional Repertoire, Production, Motion Picture Theme Song or Cabaret.
Soundstage Trophy Musical Theatre Solo - Top Mark
PKMF Musical Theatre Trophy Duet or Group - Top Mark
Adjudicator's Choice: Cash award; recipient selected by the adjudicator based on impressive performance and may not be determined by marks.
Medallions and Cash Awards: each solo class will be awarded for top marks within specified age groups. Medallions will be awarded to the individual(s) receiving the Top Mark as a Junior Competitor, Top Mark as an Intermediate Competitor, Top Mark as a Senior Competitor during the Festival Competition.
